The traditional meat pies are usually made with eggs. They help bind the meat with the remaining ingredients to achieve a textured, firm cake. However, if you are allergic to eggs or any other reason you want to put aside these ingredients , you can make a meatloaf without eggs using potato flakes, bread crumbs or rolled oats quick cooking as a bonding agent. Add finely chopped vegetables to flavor the meat pie.
3 tbsp. olive oil 3/4 cup chopped onion Pan 3/4 cups rolled oats quick cooking.
Heat oven to 350 degrees F (176 º C).
Heat 1 tsp. olive oil in a skillet over medium slow. Add the chopped onions and saute for five to seven minutes until tender. Optionally replaces half the scallion onions or other vegetables. You can also add 1 tsp. minced garlic to add flavor.
Mix oats and milk or vegetable broth in a bowl and let it soak for 10 minutes. Optionally, use potato flakes or bread crumbs instead of oats. If you are using flakes or crumbs, continue to step 4 without the soaking stage.
